About Nansen Neuroscience Network
Nansen Neuroscience Network (NNN) is a non-profit innovation network based in Norway, dedicated to fostering partnerships among researchers, clinicians, patients, and life science companies. We leverage our strong foundation in basic science to drive innovation in neuroscience, aiming to improve the lives of people with neurological disorders. Our network includes Norway’s leading universities, university hospitals, neuroscience research groups, and life science companies, and we welcome members from all the Nordic countries.
Nansen Neuroscience Network was established in 2010 as an independent organization on the initiative from some of the most prominent neuroscientists at the University of Oslo and NTNU, and is now one of the networks within Innovation Norway’s health initiatives. We have taken our name from Fridtjof Nansen, who was one of the pioneers in Norwegian neuroscience.
Our mission is to act as a catalyst for translating basic neuroscience research into groundbreaking diagnostic tools and treatments. We connect life science entrepreneurs, neuroscientists, clinicians, patients, and the business community to accelerate innovation. By facilitating access to global R&D networks, we support local entrepreneurs in reaching international markets.
NNN creates platforms for collaboration, enabling synergies between basic and clinical researchers and bridging the gap between academia and industry. We organize regular meetings and networking events to foster innovation and maintain the integrity of all parties involved. Our efforts also include raising awareness about the innovation potential within academic research and stimulating new ideas and partnerships across professions and geographical boundaries. We work to enhance the visibility of neuroscience research to attract private and public investments.
NNN serves as a liaison between national and international research entities, industry, investors, funding agencies, and governments. We play a pivotal role in influencing health and innovation policies, participating in national strategy processes, and advocating for health innovation funding. We also help researchers navigate funding opportunities by organizing information sessions and assisting in the formation of consortia.
