On November 20th NNN organized the meeting ”Multiple sclerosis – from research to the clinic” at Domus Medica in Oslo. Scientists, clinicians and representatives from the pharmaceutical industry were gathered to hear about the latest MS research from Scandinavian experts.

On the information meeting on BRAIN Initiative November 6th, Van D. Hipp, Chairman of American Defence International, gave detail on how The BRAIN Initiative is organized and how Norwegian research groups and companies could join this exciting adventure.

The recent book by NNN members Tormod Fladby and Leif Gjerstad discusses several important aspects of dementia.

A new study conducted by researchers at The Scripps Research Institute suggests that an existing Parkinson’s disease drug may provide an effective new therapy for Multiple sclerosis. These findings were published in Nature.

Nansen Neuroscience Network, The Norwegian Research Council, Oslo Medtech and Oslo Cancer Cluster are happy to invite companies and researchers to an information meeting on Horizon 2020 Health, the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) and Active and Assisted Living (AAL). 

Thursday the 17th of October Nansen Neuroscience Network organized the meeting #demens2013 – Kan vi løse demensgåten? at the University of Oslo. About 120 participants were gathered. 

On October 17th, Nansen Neuroscience Network published the report “Næring for hjernen”. The report contains an overview of Norwegian research and development on dementia disorders, as well as an analysis of what it will take to translate the research into new diagnostics and treatments that will benefit patients.

The NNN report "Næring for hjernen" was presented at our National symposium on dementia on October 17th. The report contains an overview of dementia-related medical research and development in Norway. The report brought much media attention to NNN and the importance of further research and development.
