Neuroscience professor at Skavlan

Friday Oct 10th neuroscience is one of the topics discussed at Skavlan, Scandinavia’s largest TV talk show, as Oxford Professor Susan Greenfield pays a visit. Greenfield has strong connections to NNN.

Baroness Susan Greenfield CBE, is a British scientist, writer, broadcaster and member of the House of Lords. Specialising in the physiology of the brain, Professor Greenfield researches the impact of 21st century technologies on the mind, how the brain generates consciousness and novel approaches to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. She has written a range of non-specialist books on issues relating to the mind and brain for the general reader. October 10th she visits Skavlan, Scandinavia’s largest TV talk show. Professor Greenfield also has strong connections to NNN, as she was the supervisor for our CEO, Leif Rune Skymoen, when he wrote his master’s thesis at the University of Oxford.

-  Susan is an inspiring person. On top of her impressive academic career, she has been instrumental in making science available for the public. Through a series of books and lectures she has explained how the brain works to a non-scientific audience. She has also had her own TV-series on BBC, sharing her knowledge. When we last met, in May this year, she was adding yet another element to her career, as she was about to build a new company working to find cures for neurodegenerative disorders, Skymoen says.
