Opening Ceremony Year of the Brain in Oslo

The official opening ceremony for Year of the Brain 2015 Norway was held yesterday, February 19th, in Oslo. It is 20 years since last time this was organized in Norway. This year it is co-organized by The Norwegian Brain Council, Norwegian Neurological Association and Nansen Neuroscience Network.

Year of the Brain is coordinated by the European Brain Council, where the objectives are to raise awarness, improve treatment access and increase investment in brain-related R&D.

Several speakers were invited to speak at the opening ceremony, among others Anne Grethe Erlandsen (State Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Care Services), Mary Baker (immediate past President of the European Brain Council) and Raad Shakir (Presiden of the World Federation of Neurology).

All over Norway there will be a series of lectures, conferences and other events to bring Year of the Brain to life. More information on Year of the Brain 2015 can be found here.
